Luxury clothing brands in London

If designer fashion is your thing, then a visit to London will not be complete without heading into some of its many luxury clothing stores.  Depending on where you are staying, Sloane Street, Bond Street, Mayfair or The Village at Westfield will be your best bet to hunt down your favourite brands.

What you will find is that these shopping districts are surrounded by some of the best luxury hotels in London too, so there are no shortages of accommodation or fine dining options.  For an extravagant experience at an establishment that is a bit more modern, try one of the five-star Montcalm hotels.

Louis Vuitton

The Louis Vuitton Maison (i.e. megastore) in Mayfair is as big as its flagship stores in New York, Paris and Hong Kong.  Located on New Bond Street, LV lovers swear by this store for hard to find LV pieces.

Marc by Marc Jacobs

Contemporary and cutting edge, the Marc by Marc Jacobs label is popular with those who are after styles that are chic but less traditional.  Its Mayfair store in London is known for providing good value for money for bits and pieces like trinkets, bangles, key loops and lipstick pens.  Don’t be shocked by the nude photos of some of the staff being hung in the store, it’s all in the name of fashion and art.  Head down into ‘The Vault’ for shoes and bags.

Are you after one of Burberry’s famous trench coats?  You can choose from plenty of styles at Burberry stores on Regent Street, Bond Street, Covent Garden, Knightsbridge, as well as department stores like Harrods, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols.

Chanel’s flagship store at New Bond Street spreads over three levels and spans a vast 12,600 square feet.  Showcasing the creations of Karl Lagerfield, Chanel lovers will find everything from fine jewellery, beauty and clothing items.  The store features a centrepiece inspired by the strands of Coco Chanel’s iconic pearls, with each pearl made from hand-blown Venetian glass.

If classic colours and understated style is what defines your dress sense, then Prada at Old Bond Street is where you want to go.  Here you will find an extensive collection of the Prada range, from fragrances, handbags, lingerie, casual wear and evening dresses.

Dolce & Gabbana

Another mad favourite with fashion lovers, the D&G brand is scattered all over town.  Try Sloane Street if you want to browse other luxury brands on the high street as well, or the Harrods department store.

Of course, it would be impossible to visit the stores of every designer brand in London.  So if you are obsessed with labels, it makes sense to head into a multi brand store such as Browns.  Their flagship store is at South Molton Street, and here you will find over 100 luxury labels competing against one another for shoppers’ attention.  Some of the big names to expect include Givenchy, Valentino, Dries Van Noten, Balenciaga, Christian Louboutin and Saint Laurent.
