Best Swimming Pools Suitable for Kids in London

London is an ideal place to go along with your kids as it offers many kids-friendly facilities, attractions and things to do. One of its offerings is swimming pools that are fully equipped for their safety and for providing proper lessons in swimming.

Kings Cross Bathing Pond: It is a 40 metre fresh water public bathing pond which is purified by using submerged plants to filter the water and is surrounded by flowers and plants. It is open Monday to Friday between 5am and dusk and from 8am at the weekends.

Brockwell Lido: This large lido in Brockwell Park re-opened in 1994 and is now open 7 days a week all year. It is ideal for cold water swimmers and although membership is not required, new cold water swimmers can turn up and pay on the day.

London Fields Lido: Located in Hackney and open all year round, this is a 50m Olympic size, heated outdoor swimming pool that has lane swimming available all day, swimming lessons for children and adults, one-to-one swimming lessons and advice and instruction for members and non-members during swim-fit sessions. It also offers a café, a large sundeck and sunbathing area.

If you wish to enjoy an utterly luxurious stay while visiting London, the best option is to stay at London City Suites Montcalm as you will also get the advantage of being located close to most of your places of interest.

The London Aquatics Centre:  Located in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park at Stratford this indoor facility offers two 50-metre swimming pools and a 25-metre diving pool in the centre. It was one of the main venues of the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2012 Summer Paralympics.

Since most attractions and other important tourist places of interest are located in and around central London, it is best to choose to stay in a Chiswell Street Hotel as you can also find just the right type of hotel meeting your needs and budget.

Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre: At this centre you can find everything you need to keep your family fit and healthy as it offers a lot including squash, basketball, volleyball and netball court, two studios offering classes and an indoor cycling room.

Parliament Hill Lido: Built in 1938 and Grade II-listed it is the only stainless steel lined outdoor pool in UK that looks like a giant shiny metal bowl.

Leyton Leisure Lagoon: This 25m swimming pool is spectacular with flumes, jets and more, and it looks very inviting for kids as it has been specifically designed for them with an aqua play area for under 8s with interactive jets, tipping buckets and lots more.

Park Road Leisure Centre: This sports complex offers fitness and leisure pools, an outdoor lido, gym, exercise studio and a cafe.

Aquaterra Leisure Centre: Recently renovated, it now has an extra 254 square metres of fitness space, new changing rooms, and a re-located poolside sauna.
