Things That Tourists Can Do And See When In The Vibrant London Area Of Notting Hill

Notting Hill is an amazing destination to head to in the centre of London whether it is for its shopping, cafes or cultural institutions. This part of west London is very easy to get to and all travellers have to do is jump off the tube at Notting Hill Gate, Westbourne Park or Ladbroke Grove. One of the most famous things that happen in this part of London is the Portobello Road Market that offers a range of items. The main market days are Fridays and Saturdays, but there is a smaller market that takes place between Monday and Thursday. There are vintage clothes, books, antiques and unique gifts at this bustling and popular market.

There are many museums in this vibrant part of London including The Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising that contains original brand items from sweets, household goods, television and motorcars. It provides a very interesting walk through the many changes that happened in British advertising from the Victorian times to the 1960s and modern day. There are many art galleries in Notting Hill including the wonderful Graffik, which is dedicated to urban art and has some very unique pieces. A more traditional destination for art fans is the wonderful Temple Gallery that specialises in beautiful sacred art and iconography.

This part of London is famous for being the place where the film Notting Hill was set, and fans can actually find some of the filming locations. Portobello Road Market featured in the hit film, and travellers can also find the famous blue front door of the central character played by British actor Hugh Grant.
