Summer is for Enjoying Open Air Music in London

Now that the summers are here, it is time to shed off the gloom of winter and step out in the open especially on weekends and enjoy the sunshine and the open environment. The fun is bound to increase if along with the refreshing atmosphere, you can enjoy some gigs by attending open-air musical shows and festivals. Given below are some of these events.

Fold Festival: Taking place at the Fulham Palace from June 24 to 26, this festival will feature disco legend Nile Rodgers who will present selected acts that will include Chic, Labrinth, John Newman, and Angie Stone performing their rock numbers.

Jockey Club Live: Taking place at Sandown Park from June 30 to August 4, this event provides an evening of racing followed by a big performance. Epsom Racecourse will be played by the Corrs and Jess Glynne, Busted and Bryan Adams will present their gigs.

British Summer Time at Hyde Park: Taking place from July 2 to July 10 at Hyde Park, this is one of the biggest music festivals of London which has hosted big names such as Taylor Swift, the Rolling Stones and the Libertines in previous years. The acts announced for this year so far include Massive Attack, Florence and the Machine, Kendrick Lamar, Carole King performing Tapestry, Mumford and Sons, Stevie Wonder and Take That.

As most of the open air music events are located close to Hyde Park and Paddington, it would be convenient for visitors to stay at a Hotel near Hyde Park- Park Grand Paddington Hotel for being close to the venues.

Greenwich Music Time: Taking place at Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich from July 6 to 10, this music festival will be held in the royal surroundings of maritime Greenwich, It will feature performances by Joe Bonamassa, Seal, 2Cellos, 10cc, Roxette and Jamie Cullum.

Wireless: This urban event will take place at Finsbury Park from July 8 to 10, featuring Boy Better Know, Kygo, Jess Glynne, Krept and Konan on the bill alongside Calvin Harris and The 1975.

While visiting these events it would be best to have a fine dining experience at a Paddington restaurant before or after the show.

Hampton Court Palace Festival: Taking place at the Tudor Palace from July 8 to 23, this event will feature Tom Jones, Anastacia, Jools Holland, Art Garfunkel, Van Morrison, Caro Emerald, George Benson and Katherine Jenkins.

Lovebox: With a strong line-up including Major Lazer, LCD Soundsystem, Jack Garratt, Stormzy, Diplo and Kano, this summer festival fixture will take place at Victoria Park on July 15 and 16.

Hampton Pool Summer Picnic Concerts: This year the pool’s summer picnic concerts will have a retro feel and will feature acts including Paul Young, Hakatak, ABC, The Selecter, Nik Kershaw and Ruby Turner. It will take place from July 15 to 30.

Citadel: Taking place at Victoria Park on July 17, this will follow Lovebox on the same site and will celebrate music, food and theatre featuring artists Sigur Ros, Caribou and Lianne La Havas.
